Building a Brighter Future for Music and Community

Over the past 38 years, Halifax Jazz Festival has brought over 2,300 hours of free music to Halifax!

The work the organization does to keep music accessible and available in our city is year round, and we can't do it without the community's support.

Your support today fuels a vibrant future for arts and music in our community. As we rebuild from challenging years and adapt to economic pressures, your contribution directly supports financially accessible concerts, invaluable music education, career development, and the vital growth of a new generation of musicians and music lovers. Together, we are creating a resilient foundation for music to thrive, no matter the barriers.

We invite you to explore the donor and patron program opportunities below to find the option that best aligns with your giving goals.

JazzEast Rising Association is a registered Charity (BN 8888 19190 RR 0001) and can issue a charitable tax receipt for your donation.

Halifax Jazz Festival's annual Financial Statements are public information and are available upon request.

Our Project & Priorities

Jazz East Rising focuses on developing, encouraging and building the next generation of musicians and music lovers.

Jazz Labs are FREE programs,  suitable for all ages, offering a behind-the-scenes look at making music that includes artist talks, master classes, and interactive concerts. Jazz Labs are part of the Halifax Jazz Festivals Music Education Program.

JAZZ LABS

Over 60% of our festival programming is free for all to attend. This includes our day time shows on the main stage, and evening free concert, and various stages across HRM during the festival.

HJF also programs other concerts and events through the year, free to attendees.

FREE PROGRAMMING

An 8-day intensive program where the ensemble is the classroom and improvisation is more than a style, it’s a path for learning. Find out more about this program here.
