No refunds or exchanges can be made for purchased tickets. Photo ID is required for some shows and is clearly stated in promotional materials and at the point of purchase. Not having a Photo ID or being underage does not make the ticket holder eligible for a refund or exchange.
If for any reason a ticket holder is removed from a venue (i.e. disruptive behaviour, intoxication, smoking, or harassment of staff, volunteers, or other patrons), no refund or exchange will be issued.
Ticket holders should not expect a clear site line; an unclear site line of a performance or stage does not make the ticket holder eligible for a refund or exchange.
Only the Executive Director has the authority to make any exception to this policy.

The Halifax Jazz Festival is about people working together to deliver a music festival which celebrates artists and their creativity as well as the community. Mutual respect and cooperation are the cornerstones of this organization. Every participant including artists, volunteers, staff, sponsors and festival attendees is entitled to be free from discrimination and harassment, both at the festival main stage and at all festival venues, on the basis of age, gender, national or ethnic origin, race, religion, marital status, criminal record, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, language, class or political belief. If you experience harassment at a HJF event you should contact the Executive Director to discuss the situation and possible responses. Our initial approach is to encourage early and informal resolution and to facilitate a direct conversation which resolves the matter. Harassment in all its forms detracts from our common purpose and weakens our organization and will not be tolerated. We encourage all involved with the festival to treat each other with dignity and respect.

The TD Halifax Jazz Festival runs a Patron of the Arts Program. An individual who is excited about a certain concert can become the patron of that show by donating an agreed-upon percentage of the artist fee. In return, the patron receives a charitable tax receipt for the full amount of the donation, and, if desired, their name in the festival's program guide and website. This is a great way to directly contribute to live music in our community!
